Expression, art, style, unique, classic, beautiful, awesome, intriguing, these are just some of the
words used to describe the new innovative concept of Steno Styles. At AJ Steno, we understand that every court reporter is unique. Every reporter has their very own style. However, expressing this style in a world of conformity can be very difficult at times, and it is often suppressed, until now. We do express ourselves in the clothes that we wear, and the cars that we drive. Why not express our style by classically restoring the machine that is our livelihood.
After extensive research, we have developed a process that allows us to give our customers the
opportunity to dramatically change the appearance of their machine. This multi-staged process is very similar to the process used to apply custom graphics to classic cars, motorcycles etc. We have successfully tested this process on nearly every machine that has been sold. You will be amazed when you see the restoration of an old machine. With over 140 colors to choose from, the sky is the limit. Above and beyond the beauty of the limitless color schemes, our final stage clear coat actually strengthens your housing, and gives your machine a more durable finish than the original. The clear coat also resists stains. Ink will not soak in, it just wipes off with a soft cloth and a little rubbing alcohol. Custom requests are welcomed. If you can think it, we will do our best to make it your reality. You will be pleased to know that the cost of a custom restoration is very reasonable.
Below is a brief description of some of the colors used in our restorations. Color charts are
available on the pages to follow to give you some ideas of what is available. We recommend that you contact us and speak with AJ or Ronda personally, as colors can vary dramatically from one computer to the next.
Aluminum Bases
Aluminum bases are available in three grades; fine medium and coarse. They can be used alone
for an aluminum like finish, or as a base coat for Transparent or Candy colors to create a fantastic effect.
Iridescent Colors
Iridescent colors are beautiful. They are semi-opaque colors. They can be brite and flashy. They
have a tint of another color when the light is reflected in a certain direction.
Chameleon Colors
Chameleon colors are probably the most amazing of all. They are specialty effect pigmented
colors with angle-dependent color traveling effects. What this means is, when viewed in one direction they are one color, but viewed from a different angle, they completely change colors.
Metallic Colors
Metallic Colors give a metal flake appearance. Available in several colors and can be blended
with other colors for special effects.
Pearlized Colors
Pearlized colors may be used alone for a pearlescent finish, or blended with other colors for
special effects.
Sparkle Colors
Hot Rod Sparkle colors are very similar to metal flake, but look much better. They create a
brilliant, powerful glitter-like effect that truly shimmers. Cosmic Sparkle colors create a refined, star-like shimmer effect. They have a more narrow size particle effect pigment then the Hot Rod Sparkle colors. Both have multiple colored sparkles that make for a very special effect.
Candy Colors
Candy Colors are transparent, brilliant colors that allow the underlying coat to interact with the
light passing through the candy color. They may also be blended with other colors for special effects. |
